The following article will detail how to toggle upcoding on and off.
Upcoding applies the parent code of a child code anytime the child code is applied. When deactivated, applying child codes to an excerpt only applies that single code. When you float your mouse over the upcoding button, the pop up smart tip will say On or Off to tell you the status of upcoding at that point.
To activate upcoding, click the ‘Upcoding’ button so it is NOT dimmed.
You will see the parent code applied whenever your child code is applied.
Retroactive upcoding retroactively applies parent codes to any child code application to existing excerpts.
Hold the Shift button on your keyboard and click your mouse or double click the ‘Upcoding’ button.
You will see a pop up informing you of what Retroactive Upcoding will do and confirming you want the change to happen.
NOTE: We highly suggest you try this in a copy of your project first.
